Caguioa bags Player of the Week award

Crowd favorite Mark Caguioa nabbed the most recent Accel-PBA Press Corps Player of the Week award after boosting the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings' play in their semifinals stint, mulberry handbags drawing the team closer to the Commissioner’s Cup Finals in the past week.

In a PBA.ph report, Caguioa averaged 21.3 points, 8.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals for the period April 11 to 17.

The guard-forward recorded his best for the past three games last Wednesday, contributing 30 points with 11 rebounds over the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, 92-82.

In the said game, Caguioa bolstered the Kings despite a seemingly laid back performance of import Nate Brumfield with only 12 points.

Meanwhile, Caguioa remained Ginebra’s top gun in the race-to-three semis match-up with Smart Gilas, prevailing at 97-96 and 110-103.

In both games, the 31-year-old cager averaged 17.0 points.

Ginebra coach Jong Uichico complimented Caguioa for the feat.

“Mark Caguioa is a competitor. He’s a fighter, ayaw magpatalo,” Uichico said.

“It’s really nice to have a player like (him) in your team. It’s positive. He’s just so competitive that he wants to win… mulberry sale and sometimes you’d rather have that than somebody who won’t fight at all,” the coach added.
